The organization
An independent read on the Baja California economy
The Organización de Impacto Económico de Baja California reports on business and economic activity across the state, so investors, journalists, policymakers, and companies can see how the economy actually works, and where it is going.
What we do
- We report on the real economy. Briefs, data snapshots, and sector analysis on advanced manufacturing, export agriculture, fisheries, the Port of Ensenada, tourism, and motorsports.
- Every number is sourced. Figures are compiled from primary sources and cited, so they can be used and quoted with confidence.
- We focus on decisions. Market size, trajectory, and the forces shaping each sector, written for people allocating capital, covering the region, or setting policy.

How to read the figures
Figures reflect the most recent complete data available, generally full-year 2023 or 2024. Peso figures are converted at roughly 18 to 19 pesos per US dollar. State GDP is 2023 nominal, the latest full year, and grew 3.5% in 2023 before flattening in 2024. The 2026 racing season is still under way.
Official GDP, labor, manufacturing, farm-value, fisheries, and port figures are drawn directly from government agencies. Wine-tourism, cruise-revenue, and racing-impact figures include tourism-office estimates and are directional.
